The Response Console

The Response Console (under Analyse → Responses) is where you read individual responses across all your surveys. Dashboards tell you what the numbers are; the console lets you read the actual feedback behind them.

It shows every response you can access, newest first, and is driven by the filter bar at the top of the page plus a few console-specific controls.

Summary cards

Across the top, four cards summarise the responses currently shown on this page:

  • On this page — how many responses are loaded.
  • Promoters, Passives, Detractors — the NPS split of those responses.

These reflect the current page of results, giving you a quick read on the cohort in front of you.

In progress

If any conversations are still live — typically SMS or IVR responses being answered one message at a time — an In progress panel appears above the table, with a pulsing live indicator. It lists each unfinished conversation, its channel, how many answers have come in so far, and when it last updated. These are partial responses; they'll move into the main list once complete.

note

Partial responses are shown so you can watch feedback arrive in real time, but remember they don't count towards analytics until they complete. See complete vs partial.

The responses table

Each row is one response. The columns you can show are:

ColumnWhat it shows
StatusA coloured dot for the NPS band (green = promoter, amber = passive, red = detractor).
SurveyThe survey name (links to the survey), the channel glyph, and a short response id.
ChannelWeb, Email, SMS, IVR Inbound, IVR Outbound, or Embedded.
StateComplete, Partial (pulsing), or Expired.
SentimentPositive / Neutral / Negative, rolled up from the free-text answers.
NPSThe promoter / passive / detractor band.
ReceivedWhen the response arrived.

Click View on any row (or click the row itself) to open the response detail drawer.

Choosing columns

Click Columns in the table's toolbar to toggle which columns are visible. Your choice is remembered in your browser, so the console stays the way you like it.

Server-side pagination

The console pages through results on the server, so there's no row cap — you can move through your entire response history, not just the first page.

  • Use Previous / Next at the bottom of the table to move between pages.
  • Set Rows per page to 25, 50, or 100.

Each page loads fresh from the server as you go, which keeps things fast even with very large response volumes.

Per-survey responses

The console is cross-survey by default — it shows responses from every survey. To focus on one survey, select it in the filter bar's Surveys control; the console then shows only that survey's responses, in effect giving you a per-survey tab.
