Publishing and badges

Once a survey is built, you publish it to make it live, and you can optionally launch it automatically on your website or expose a public rating badge.

Publishing​

A survey moves through three states, set on the Settings tab:

  1. Draft — the default for a new survey. Respondents cannot reach it.
  2. Published — live and accepting responses.
  3. Archived — retired; it stops collecting responses but keeps its data.

Publish only once the questions, pages, branching, and theme are how you want them. You can return a published survey to draft or archive it at any time.

Autolaunch​

Autolaunch lets a survey appear automatically to visitors on your own website rather than waiting for an invitation. Once configured and embedded, the survey can launch in response to page activity so you capture feedback in the moment, without sending an invite for every visitor.

Autolaunch is delivered through a small embed script you add to your site. The script loads the survey as an inline panel, a modal overlay, or a slide-in — with options for how long to wait before showing it, a button label and position, and a frequency cap so the same visitor isn't asked too often.

The public rating badge​

The Enable badge option turns a survey's headline rating into a public, read-only badge you can show on your website — a live proof point that updates as responses arrive.

Turning the badge on​

  1. Open the survey and find the Public rating badge control (on the survey's detail page).
  2. Toggle it on. Davies CXsmart then exposes a public badge URL — a stable link that returns the survey's aggregated NPS score and response count as JSON, which your website can render as a rating widget. The endpoint is cached for a few minutes.
  3. A live preview shows exactly what the badge will look like with your current data.

Using the badge​

The badge is read-only and public — it exposes only the aggregated score and response count, never individual responses or respondent details. Turn the badge off again at any time to immediately stop exposing it.
